Windmill Gardens | Debbie & Ed

I think my favorite memory of Windmill Gardens was the styled shoot where I first met Lessie with Lessie Blue Photography. So it was only appropriate that I joined her for this Windmill Gardens wedding!

A Hidden Bridal Suite

In all the times I’ve visited Windmill Gardens, I was completely unaware that there was a hidden away bridal suite. The quaint little space is perfect for brides (or grooms) to prep for their big day. The well lit area with a huge mirror is perfect for having your hair and makeup done. Meanwhile the other room hosts your libations and gives your bridal party a spot to relax!

The First Look

Debbie and Ed chose to go the non-traditional route and have a first look in the gardens. Windmill Gardens is the best place for semi private first looks. We met Lessie and Ed down under one of the greenery covered archways, creating the perfect feel of seclusion.

A Ceremony under the Windmill

Backed by the iconic Windmill, Debbie and Ed kept their ceremony short and sweet. Guests wandered in right up until Debbie walked down the aisle, escorted by her children. They exchanged rings (Ed’s was a temporary since his didn’t arrive in time!), vows and a perfect first kiss. When they turned to walk back down the aisle, their smiles radiated warmth and happiness around them.

Beautifully lit Garden Parties

Windmill Gardens really knocks it out of the park when the sun goes down. The Edison lights that are strung above the grass enhance the romantic feel of the garden. Debbie and Ed’s DJ kept the party going with jams from the 50s all the way to currently trending tracks. Watching Debbie and Ed as they twirled around the dance floor reminded me of why I love what I do. Seeing couples on the happiest day of their lives always warms my heart.
