Ashley + Joey | A Whimsical Waterfront Wedding at Tolmie State Park

Olympia Intimate Wedding at Tolmie State Park

As a Tacoma Wedding Photographer, I love getting to venture outside of my usual territory. Plus, it’s not every day that you’re able to witness a wedding on the same day as the solar eclipse! Being a bit of an astrology nut myself (bring me all the crystals and moonbeams please!), I love that Ashley and Joey chose to start their new lives together this Solar Eclipse day! A Solar Eclipse ushers in new beginnings, much like New Years Day does. While they’re fairly common (2-4 per year) we don’t always get to see them here in the Pacific Northwest!

Ashley and Joey tied the knot with a beautiful circle ceremony. Ashley explained that they each had their own circle, inclusive of their friends and family, and they would now have a joint circle as they’ve combined their lives. The sun glared off the water, but the amphitheater was quiet and serene as Ashley was lead to her groom. Their officiant drew a circle around them, and their short and sweet ceremony started.

I loved being able to participate in this lovely intimate wedding on a Monday afternoon. It made a great start to my week and I’m sure excited for Ashley and Joey’s life journey together to have taken off in such a beautiful way.
