13 Wedding Venues replacing Monte Cristo Ballroom
On Monday, October 14th, the all-inclusive Monte Cristo Ballroom abruptly closed the business down leaving couples without a wedding. The heartbreaking chaos of the last few days for these couples included scrambling and changing their wedding plans and/or dates.
In an amazing effort, the wedding community has banded together to help these couples reinvent their weddings from scratch, in as little as 6 days. Venues, catering, videographers, Djs and the like have all offered condolences as well as discounts and service offers to create dream weddings for the Monte Cristo Ballroom collapse couples.
All is not lost though. While the Monte Cristo Ballroom was an incredible vintage styled venue, the greater Seattle area is home to some equally (and even better) wedding venues. Below are my top 10 venues that will replace the Monte Cristo Ballroom in the future.
The Feather Ballroom – Snohomish
For the history lovers, the Feather Ballroom doesn’t look like much from the outside, but inside it brings beautiful historic charm to the North Sound. Original historic features give it a unique vibe, and your guests are going to love the “sprung” dance floor. The last of it’s kind west of the Mississippi, the coils beneath the floor make it feel like you’re floating when large groups are dancing. So be sure to bring your party shoes.
The Great Hall at Union Station – Seattle
Jewel Hospitality owns three iconic Seattle wedding venues, with the favorite being the gorgeous Union Station. The champagne and gold color scheme is accented with beautiful green subway tiles tying the historic building to the emerald city. With the ability to accommodate up to 500 guests, you can host the wedding of your dreams within its walls. The large dance floor and custom floor plan will give your guests plenty of chances to mix, mingle and dance the night away.
Westland Distillery – Seattle (21+)
A little more rustic, Westland Distillery boasts a private event space with exposed original wood beams and attached cask room. Located in SODO, this venue provides a more intimate setting for your guests. Gorgeous furnishings make the inside cozy, while ample street parking and a nearby pay lot are paramount for the area.
The Corson Building – Seattle
The most intimate of settings, it’s hard to believe this place is technically in the city. Located in Georgetown, the building (originally constructed as a home) features a unique experience for those who enter the front door. The private dining area seats up to 35 guests, while the summer months allow use of the outdoor patio, making the venue perfect for smaller weddings of 80 guests. Working with clients to tailor menus, the Corson Building’s tenants strive to create dishes inspired by the seasons and using locally sourced ingredients. It’s the perfect pick for those wanting to leave a smaller carbon footprint with their wedding day.
Lairmont Manor – Bellingham
You’re gonna find romance at Lairmont Manor. The Italian Renaissance-style estate is over a century old and features an intimate feel to this extraordinary venue. Original details, curated during construction, include vaulted ceilings, decorative wrought iron and wood paneling. Surrounded by incredible award winning gardens, Lairmont Manor is sure to steal the hearts of all who visit.
Lord Hill Farms (All Inclusive) – Snohomish
The all inclusive Lord Hill Farms is sure to be a crowd pleaser. With the ability to host weddings year round (score for indoor ceremonies!) it’s a beautiful venue during all seasons. Multiple options for ceremony sites, make this a one size fits all venue. Plus the 12 hour rental period gives ample time for set up and tear down.
Trinity Tree Farm Lodge – Issaquah
Who doesn’t love a good tree farm wedding? Don’t answer that until you check out Trinity Tree Farm Lodge. With views of Mount Rainier, Tiger and Squak Mountain, the Lodge features beautiful french doors, a romantic bridal suite and a side suite with a foosball table. It’s the perfect place for a beautiful formal celebration with the feeling of being at home.
Rainier Chapter House – Seattle
Designed by a well respected Seattle architect, Daniel Riggs Huntington, this gorgeous house is located on the northwest slope of Capitol Hill. Built in 1925, the home is still serving its original purpose as a meeting place and venue for private, public and non-profit events. Beautiful architectural details surround the house, give way to a clean color palette and decorated with period furniture throughout the interior.
Georgetown Ballroom – Seattle
I’ve said it before, but this warehouse garage turned amazing wedding venue is probably one of the most unique venues on this list! Celebrate your marriage with up to 300 of your closest friends and family. With two adjoining spaces and two mezzanines, your guests will have room to roam and mingle while you canoodle during your first moments as a married couple.
Great Hall at Green Lake – Seattle
If a neutral palette is your style, the Great Hall at Green Lake is going to be your “go to” for a classy wedding. Their open catering policy will allow you to make this event completely your own. Want Grandma’s goulash for dinner? No problem. Prefer the high end catering of Della Terra or Chef Emme? No problems there either. Bring whoever you want and make the day yours.
Laurel Creek Manor – Sumner
Would you believe I personally kept hogs on this property? Before it became a wedding venue in 2004, it was home to the barn where Sumner High School’s FFA students kept their animals. When Laurel Cabodi established the wedding venue in 2004, it was her dream to have a beautiful wedding location. She and her husband, Al, poured their hearts and souls into this Sumner Manor, creating an intimate space where you enter as friends and leave as family. From the beautiful landscaped gardens, to the exquisite European details, the love that’s been given to this old manor really shines through.
Tibbetts Creek Manor – Issaquah
Another manor of note, is Tibbetts Creek Manor. Nestled in the hills of Issaquah, this manor features a covered porch, and a beautiful picturesque “backyard” for the sweet ceremony you dream of. With over 7,000 square feet of space, this two story country home can accommodate both indoor and outdoor events.
Brickstone Ballroom – Vancouver, WA
If you’re game to travel a bit away from the northern part of the state, Vancouver hosts the beautiful Brickstone Ballroom. Located on the third floor of the Historic Elks Building; Brickstone Ballroom features beautiful large arched windows that make a gorgeous backdrop for your wedding gown (no matter the color!) and is every photographer’s dream for those perfectly lit detail shots.
