Lace Two Piece Wedding Dress

Wedding Dress Trends to Watch | Tacoma Wedding Expo

Lace Two Piece Wedding Dress

Back in January, I attended the Tacoma Wedding Expo as a vendor for the very first time. I LOVED seeing all the different trends at the booths, but those wedding dresses were by far my favorite.

All things Glittery aren’t Gold

A trend I first noticed in November 2017 at Alara & Jonathan’s Echo Falls Wedding was the glittery gown. One dress consistently caught my eye from across the room. The Wedding Belle was positioned at the end of our row, and every time a bride tried it on, I could see it sparkle. This style sparkled with every move the bride made.

Blush isn’t just for your cheeks

Blush dresses appeared to be all the rage, with hundreds of gowns featuring these romantic tones. There were ombre styles like Laurie’s beautiful vintage style gown, which stole my heart this summer. Other styles combined blush elements with white or ivory bases.

Ivory and Off-white steal center stage

Stark white dresses gave way to vintage styles with ivory coloring that felt straight out of the 70s. One of my favorite models adorned a dress featuring crochet style lace. For those brides who are not fans of crochet, almost all the dresses I saw were in shades of off-white and ivory! It was a refreshing change from the bright white of weddings past.

Two piece attire

The last trend I saw in full force, made me giddy from my head to my toes. When I chose to revamp my wedding dress into a skirt, I felt as though I was stepping away from all things bride. But one of the show stopping pieces at the Tacoma Wedding Expo was a two piece wedding dress. A white embellished romper was paired with a sheer floor length skirt. Not only did the combination give the model legs for days, but the skirt added a graceful element that is missing with ball gowns.

3D Embellishments

The beautiful 3D embellishments featured at the Tacoma Wedding Expo made for a stunning addition. My favorites were the flowers and butterflies that graced dress bodices and trailed down trains. Paired with a simple ribbon belt, these beautifully embellished gowns gave us a glimpse of the whimsical elements brides will be choosing for 2019.
