Valarie + Brandon | The Barn At Wilson Farm
There are some weddings that just turn out so much better than you could have imagined; yet, you get stuck in a holding pattern for whatever reason and it takes much too long to share. But when your brain swirls around Valerie + Brandon’s incredible country, horse loving, Barn at Wilson Farm wedding, it can take a hot minute to find the words to share.
The Barn at Wilson Farm
One of the things I love about the Barn at Wilson Farm is their flexibility to make your dreams come true. When Valerie told me she was dreaming of having her horse as their flower girl, I kept my fingers crossed Jana would be all for it. Turns out, Jana had the perfect spot for Ms Daisy to hang out while she waited for her beauty crew to arrive. When I went over to visit her during the prep hour, she loved the ability to lounge in the long grass while the sun filtered through the trees.
Valerie and her bride tribe were already hustling in the main house when we arrived, and the whole place buzzed with anticipation of the day. Each bridesmaid appeared to have stepped into designated places to help out with the tasks of the morning, like a well oiled machine. One was steaming dresses, one was prepping details, others were helping with hair and makeup. Valerie scurried from one place to another, while we tried to wrangle her in for her own beauty treatment.
Brandon and the guys were so much quicker during the morning (as grooms tend to be anyway) so instead they got to horsing around and having a good time. The antics sure made me laugh while I was editing their photos. Meanwhile Daisy’s beauty crew arrived and set to work fastening flowers in her mane and glittering her rear.
Short, Sweet + Time to Party
Soon the truck arrived to take the wedding party down to the barn (because the unfortunate part is it’s very open and down hill from the main home) and the girls loaded up first. Once the whole crew was set, I headed down the path and met everyone at the bottom. It was finally time to begin!
The ceremony was short and sweet, from the tears Brandon shed when Valerie waltzed down the aisle with her dad, to the toast from the wedding party at the end of the ceremony. The whole thing sped by much faster than anticipated, with such love and joy for the day. Then it was off to the party and the rest is history.
