Tehaleh Engagement Portraits | Jessica + Jonathan
Just a few miles from my home, is a beautiful community with views of Mount Rainier. Of course, in true Washington fashion the mountain decided to hide for this Tehaleh engagement session. Lucky for me, Jessica + Jonathan were game to make the session work despite the weather.
Tehaleh Engagement in the trees
I wasn’t sure I’d share this, but some days my head just isn’t all there. Like the morning of Jessica + Jonathan’s engagement. I have no idea why or how, but I wrote down the wrong time for their session in several places. I wasn’t dressed when I got the text message that they’d arrived (thankfully my gear was prepped the night before as usual, waiting by the door) and I jumped up to throw on clothes and sprint out the door. I’m glad we chose this location because Jessica + Jonathan were able to snag coffee in the cafe and warm up a bit while they patiently waited for me.
I made it (only 15 minutes late!) and we headed into the trees for some cover from the impending drizzle. The tree cover provided a quiet and dry area for us to get to know each other, and photograph their engagement photos.
Swipe Right for Sage + Tumbleweed
One of the questions I’m always asking couples at their engagement sessions is how they met. Jessica + Jonathan met on Tinder like many couples do. Jessie tells me he said she was “boring” in her profile and only swiped right to meet her pup, Sage. Jonathan laughed, denied saying she was boring (Oh how this sounds like Jake + I) and insisted it was their third date when he wanted to meet Sage. (The backstory? She went home to get Sage on their second date… so Jonathan counts that date as their second and third because she went home! Haha!).
Of course Sage + Tumble joined us for a few shots too. Tumble wasn’t sure he liked me, but Sage was excited to participate. They both warmed up to the camera after a bit though and were super good pups! Jessica told me that Tumble had been very hesitant with them when they adopted him, so I don’t take his shyness personally. đ
A Perfect End
We ended their session at the fireplace near the cafe; the perfect spot to warm up after their drizzly Tehaleh engagement. Wouldn’t you know, as I drove home it started pouring and the following day was a spring storm that left us without power.
I loved getting to know them a little better and cannot wait to join them this fall. Their October wedding at the Five2Five is going to be incredible! Congratulations Jessica + Jonathan!
