Taylor & Dustin | Deering Wild Flower Park, Snohomish
Almost anything can become an adventure, and this engagement session was no different! It was really a test in skill when it comes to location searching online. Lol!
I met Taylor and Dustin at the Seattle Wedding Show where they were searching for those last few perfect vendors. When they rolled up pushing their two month old daughter in a stroller, it was kismet. Since Evan was there in his bouncer, I’m going to say he was the salesman behind this wedding. I was over the moon when they contacted me to book a photography package for their Snohomish Backyard wedding!
Engagement sessions are my favorite part of getting to know my clients, because its so much easier than walking “blind” into a wedding day. I was super excited when Taylor booked a micro engagement with her wedding package; and if we’ve learned anything about me… sticking to 30 minutes is hard. I’m pretty sure we spent about 50-60 minutes exploring and photographing. As a special surprise (to all of us) my friend Kate from Gsquared Weddings joined me on this shoot, while the rest of my family hung out at her house. I loved having her join me on this engagement as I learned a few tricks (and she’s excellent at making babies smile!)
These two are totes adorable together, and when Dustin requested a photo where he’d picked Taylor up, I had to find a way to get higher! Dustin is over 6 foot tall, making my average 5’6″ seem tiny. But we made it work and it was a good reminder for me to bring my stool to their wedding. It’s not every day you get to marry your best friend in your childhood backyard, and I’m looking forward to celebrating with them!
If you’re planning your engagement session, a tip that Taylor took advantage of: Bring a separate set of shoes for exploring! Sure, it takes an extra minute or two to swap out of your hikers into your heels, but it’s totally worth it in the end. Trust me, your feet will thank you!
