Spring Lord Hill Farms Wedding | Brianna + Brennan

It’s an understatement when I say this Spring Lord Hill Farms Wedding blew me away. Brianna + Brennan made sure no detail was overlooked with their cultural fusion spring fling. Capturing their ceremony and reception was truly a magical way to start this year’s wedding season.

Spring at Lord Hill Farms

Lord Hill Farms had been on my wedding venue bucket list for quite a few years. I’d driven past it on my way to various Snohomish locations, but never taken the opportunity to stop in. In all honesty, I’m glad I didn’t because the venue in bloom was a wonderful surprise. Late March through early April is prime cherry blossom season, and Lord Hill Farms boasts some of the prettiest pink blossoms you can imagine.

When Brianna + Brennan were touring venues, they were looking for a location with stunning views and combined both rustic and elegant PNW vibes. Lord Hill Farms fit their wishes perfectly. The sprawling grounds showcase the hills and mountains in the background. Meanwhile the beautiful wooden beams, iron supports and high ceiling of the main building give the entire venue a rustic feel.

Original Personal Elements

Brianna + Brennan found some pretty incredible ways to personalize their wedding day. From the favors to the entertainment, I was completely in awe of the planning precision Brianna put into their day.

Their favors were beautiful bottles of a specially created tea blend from Friday Afternoon Tea; due to a neurological oddity (Lexical-Gustatory Synesthesia), the owner can literally taste spoken language. Brianna + Brennan paired these beautiful tea bottles with local Snohomish honey sticks.

I mentioned in their engagement blog how excited I was to see Brennan’s ring, and it didn’t disappoint! The ring was from Manly Bands, and included a violin string inlaid in it. This musical theme also made a debut with their first dance; the piece was composed by their high school orchestra instructor (where the two of them met).

Delicious eats and eye catching entertainment

In Filipino tradition, there is typically entertainment at the wedding. Brianna brought in the UW’s Sayaw Dance group to perform several folk dances including the beautiful Pandanggo sa Ilaw (Fandango of Lights). It was an incredible experience and the performers were amazing.

Brianna + Brennan also celebrated her culture by including the Filipino tradition of the rice cake. Kalamay (sticky rice cake) is wrapped in palm leaves and shared by the couple to symbolize “sticking together” during their married life.

Last but most certainly not least, they brought in the flair with a delicious dessert bar. The Filipino treats included Puto (steamed rice cake), Karioka (fried sweet rice balls), Bibingka (coconut-rice cake), and two kinds of Hopia (similar to a filled pastry) featuring yellow bean and pork. It was definitely a treat for the taste buds and I couldn’t help but grab a second Karioka while the party was in full swing.

Of course, the highlight of the entire day was watching how in love these two are. They are truly made for each other. I cannot wait to see their future adventures. Congratulations Brianna + Brennan. It was an honor being your wedding photographers.
