Always on the hunt for AMAZING PIZZA? If your answer is yes, I got you boo. Today we’re chatting with Sirius Wood Fired Pizza.

I was honored to meet owners Holly & Chuck Preble at the January 2019 Tacoma Wedding Show. Lucky for me, my booth was placed right next to theirs, which helped out a ton because I had no idea what I was doing. LOL. Between Holly and my husband, I thankfully didn’t have to go too far out of my comfort zone, introducing myself to people. It was truly a blessing.

Not only does Sirius have an amazing team, but their pizza is divine! I’ve been known to go out of my way just to get a slice of the pie, and my husband follows them almost religiously on IG, updating me on their whereabouts several times a week. We might be smitten here. Read on to hear from this wonderful mobile pizza vendor and get a virtual taste of Sirius Woodfired Pizza!

Please tell me a bit more about you and Sirius Wood Fired Pizza:

We opened Sirius Pizza in 2018 to bring fresh out of the oven food to catered events. We are not behind the scene plating food cooked 3 hours ago in our commissary and transported in hotboxes. We cook on site, your guests can watch us toss the dough and cook pizzas in 90 seconds in our wood Fired oven. We focus on Neapolitan pizza. Chuck mentor is Tony Gemignani, a 13 time world champion pizza maker.

How did you get started catering weddings?

Holly’s dad was a physician and she started handling the food for all of his events as a teenager. Chuck worked his way through college as a kitchen manager. Once Holly married Chuck she started managing events for the military like balls, events for visiting V.I.Ps, etc. When Chuck retired after 27 years of service; it was only natural that we opened a catering company. We met in high school and have been married for 18 years, so we love weddings and being a part of people’s big day.

What sets you apart from other caterers in your area?

We are veteran and family owned and operated. Sirius Wood Fired Pizza has amazing foodie high end pizza that food critics adore. That being said it is pizza, so it is a high end, but easy casual feel for catering. We also make cheese, pepperoni, and all that standards that make kids and picky eaters happy. We cook all of the pizza in the wood oven at your event. It is all served fast and fresh. It is made on site and your guests can watch us through our 12 feet of windows, but then are safely out of harm’s way. If the weather take a turn for the worse we are enclosed and keep right on cooking. Our trailer has a fully reflective wrap that features the Seattle skyline and makes an amazing photo booth backdrop. At night we look amazing with a light on us. Holly is a retired nurse so she is very used to handling special dietary issues if your guest have any.

Do you have a favorite story from a wedding or working with a couple?

Weddings are fabulous and amazing. They are also stressful. Our favorite moment has happened over and over for us. We like being the calm in the storm. Making the day of crazy go slightly less crazy. The smile on our brides and grooms faces when we handle an unforeseen issue seamlessly is rewarding by itself.

What is your favorite dish to make at a wedding?

We are known for our wood fired pizza and love it, but I would honestly have to say either dessert pizzas for an unexpected ending or meatball sliders as they are a super fun, and loved by all, from kids to adults as an appetizer.

If you could give couples only one piece of advice for their wedding, what would it be?

At the end of the day you will be married. That is what matters. Random things will happen and your wedding will not go exactly as planned. No one else knows what you had planned and your guests will only see if you are happy or not. They just want to be part of your big day. Roll with whatever happens and just laugh it off. Everyone will be super happy and impressed with your poise and grace.
