Seattle Wedding Show Recap | January 2020

Many moons ago (13 years actually!) I attended the Seattle Wedding Show for the first time as a very young bride. Sadly, it wasn’t the best experience for me that year. I’m THRILLED to say the show has evolved into an AMAZING selection of vendors, many of which I’m proud to say are my friends AND colleagues in the wedding industry. The whole show was such a fun experience, and I’m excited to share it with you!

My Own Wedding Show Booth

One of the big things I learned at this show was to actually decorate my booth. My florals were from Karrie Michelle Floral Design, while all my wooden elements (the custom wall and easels) were designed and created by my brother Michael Wheeler. Between these two elements and the dozen or so canvases I had on display, my booth was welcoming and beautiful! Dozens of people stopped and took photos of the various items, or laughed at my favorite award winning photo that was on display right at the front of the booth. I was ecstatic with how the booth turned out as a whole.

Kevin & Nicole’s wedding photo had everyone laughing. I couldn’t count the number of people who stopped and pointed it out to their posse. Several gals mentioned they could see their fiancé or husband pulling the same thing.

Who knew that a few extra decorations could really make my booth shine in a sea of other vendors. I loved getting to see how the others decorated their booths to make their work shine through. I have so many tiny adjustments for my booth at next year’s show already. It’s going to be amazing!

A Few Stand Out Vendors

I think my favorite thing of all was getting to wander around (ok, I was basically making laps trying to get Evan to nap) and check out some of the other vendors. Everything from 3D cake toppers to incredible venues were represented there. I should have taken more photos, and remembered my camera… so that’s on my list for next year. A few that really stood out to me were Morfey’s Cakes, Shug’s Soda Fountain & Ice Cream, and The Mini Bar! I’m just in love with the ice cream bike and the mini bar cart. Both would photograph beautifully and are super unique pieces that would keep your guests talking!

My other favorite booths were the venues. Each decorated beautifully to give you an idea of their venue on a much smaller scale. Tin Can Alley really grabbed everyone’s attention (they won best decorated booth along with JBK Weddings and Events!) with their incredible décor. I wanted to escape into their booth most of the day. Skamania Lodge brought their own bigfoot. I’m sure that got people talking. And Alderbrook’s wooden rounds wall was incredible. I wish I’d have gotten a photo when their sign was lit though!

If you missed the Seattle Wedding Show, be sure to stop by the Tacoma Bride’s Club Expo January 11th & 12th! It’s not as big, but if you don’t want to wait for next January’s show… it’s a good option!
