Santa Visits | Sumner Santa Photographer

Santa Claus is coming to town!

Halloween may be my absolute favorite holiday, but I’m secretly one of those closet Christmas Freaks. I might have dreams of a Christmas Tree in every room, different themes for holiday decor and a weird love for Die Hard. (It IS a Christmas movie, though recent memes have made a strong argument for it being a Harry Potter movie too… but Harry Potter is a Christmas movie too in this house). The past several years, I’ve been blessed to turn my love of Christmas into a fun holiday tradition… Santa photos.

For those who haven’t had the opportunity to meet my exclusive Santa(s), you might be surprised that you’ll recognize them from my social media accounts and other parts of my website. Since 2016, my dad has been playing Santa for my exclusive sessions. He may not be a professional Santa, but he’s pretty incredible with the kids. When he’s not playing Santa for my client sessions, this Veteran is a mechanical engineer or currently building a farm table of insane proportions for my dining room. My second exclusive Santa has been spotted at Cockrell Hard Cider and on mission for a sweet young girl who missed out on Santa sessions this year. He’s also not a professional Santa, but he is a pretty good husband. (Sorry ladies, he’s mine. Haha.)

This year I was blessed by my mother in law, who graciously welcomed my clients and team into her home for Santa sessions. Her classic brick fireplace continually leaves visions of beautiful farmhouse holiday decor dancing in my head. While I didn’t go all out as much as I wanted to this year (having a baby put me behind schedule), it was still a beautiful backdrop for sessions. The warm atmosphere and homey feel is exactly what I wanted for this year’s Santa photos.

Seeing all the kiddos dressed in their snuggley pjs makes my heart sing every year. I love seeing the kiddos grow up from year to year, and am honored they choose my Santa sessions to document those holiday memories.
