Rustic Chic at Brookstom Creek | Miranda + Wayne
Would you imagine for a moment, walking into your wedding venue on a bright sunny day, the cool breeze brushing your hair from your face, and the sound of falling water greeting you. Wonderfully pleasant isn’t it? This is the exact scene that greeted us when we arrived for Miranda and Wayne’s rustic chic Brookstom Creek Wedding.
Let’s be real, the weeks leading up to this wedding were INSANELY stressful. With ever changing mandates, I was concerned this wedding would get pushed back. While every wedding is long awaited, Miranda and Wayne booked me TWO YEARS in advance. I legitimately sighed when I arrived the morning of their wedding.
Rustic Chic with DIY Flare
Miranda is a gal after my own heart. Mixing her incredible sense of style with her own craft skills, Miranda’s attire was nothing short of amazing. Her Cocomelody dress featured a light rose underlay, which paired beautifully with her Jewel by Badgley Mishka heels. One of my favorite trends this year is the reception dress though! Miranda’s paired beautifully with the “Mrs. Landru” jacket she customized!
Wayne looked sharp in his dark blue suit with the maroon and blue accents. There’s something about the colored suits that just gets me. Of course, it was hard to miss their adorable daughter, Amirah and her beautiful “wedding” dress. She stole my heart asking to put her wedding dress on, and simply looked adorable when she was dressed.
Mount Rainier at Brookstom Creek
The newest feature at Brookstom Creek is the mountain waterfall. I was thrilled when Miranda and Wayne chose this masterpiece for their ceremony and first look. During their first look, they chose to exchange letters before Miranda let Wayne turn around to see her all dressed up. I personally love when couples exchange letters, as it completely personalizes the experience.
Their mountainside ceremony was wonderfully short and sweet; which was a blessing due to the heat! After the ceremony and a few extra portraits, both Miranda and Wayne changed into reception clothes. The casual reception took off with some dancing, yard games and plenty of good eats.
Delicious Food and Desserts
Miranda and Wayne pretty much combined my two loves: BBQ and sweets. They chose their favorite restaurant to cater the affair; BBQ2U from Gig Harbor. The dessert table was adorned with chucks from the Vintage Baker and the donut wall filled with giants from Original House of Doughnuts. (If you don’t know what a chuck is, it’s kinda like a giant ding dong. If you don’t know what a ding dong is… I can’t save you. Haha).
Of course, this wedding went by way too fast, and I was a little sad to see them off in the limo. Miranda and Wayne were such a dream to work with, and I truly hope to see them back in the future. You can bet I’ll be keeping up with their adventures on Instagram and I look forward to seeing where they go!
