Romantic Municipal Court of Seattle Elopement
Cold December vibes create ultimate romance
I met Tonya in junior high choir. I don’t remember how or why we became friends, but I do know that if you’d told those two 13/14 year olds that in about 17 years, she would be getting married in a Municipal Court of Seattle Elopement and I’d be there to witness it; we’d have totally agreed with you. Had you told us I’d be photographing it? It’s likely we would have given you a strange look and walked away. I “had no artistic ability” and was convinced I’d be a veterinarian, or maybe a famous singer.
Going to the chapel and we’re… gonna get marrrried.
I can’t tell you how THRILLED I was when Tonya asked me to photograph her wedding to the love of her life, Mark. (Face it: It’s fate. Mark/Markie? Yep. Fate.) Not a single road is completely clear of bumps, and neither was theirs. Life likes to throw curve balls. Including, me getting sick at 6 am the day before the wedding. Rain, snow, sleet, hail, hellfire, or flu…. Nothing was stopping me from getting to Tonya and Mark’s Municipal Court of Seattle Elopement. On Thursday, December 22nd, I packed up my gear, crackers, sprite and (of course) a Starbucks skinny vanilla latte with almond milk and headed to their courthouse elopement.
Steely Municipal Court of Seattle Vibes
Seattle, in December, is COLD and all that grey cement and steel really gives a beautiful dark vibe. Seeing Tonya and Mark walk up together, and her beautiful wedding dress vibrant against all that grey, nearly made my eyes leak. She was glowing (and shivering). Mark was a real team player as we made them pose and snuggle and kiss right there on the street. Poor guy. Haha! Their ceremony was beautiful with the lights of Seattle visible in the background. Short and sweet, they were married before we knew it. And then it was off to the party where they were joined by family and friends!
