A Dreamy Summer Wedding at Red Cedar Farm | Poulsbo Wedding Photographer
There’s something magical about summer weddings in the Pacific Northwest, and Cora + Dylan’s July wedding at Red Cedar Farm in Poulsbo, WA was nothing short of enchanting. When my friend Rebecca Jane Photography invited me to second shoot with Alex at this stunning venue, I didn’t hesitate to say yes. Not only was I excited to document such a beautiful love story, but I also couldn’t wait to visit a venue I first learned about at the 2024 Tacoma Wedding Show.
A Hidden Gem in the Trees
Tucked away in the lush greenery of Poulsbo, WA, Red Cedar Farm is the kind of place that feels like a hidden secret, making it perfect for couples looking for a romantic and intimate setting. The venue has a rich history—Andrea and Gregg, the owners, purchased the property in 1987 to raise their family. Over time, they planted more than 1,000 trees, creating the breathtaking landscape that now serves as the backdrop for weddings. By 2012, they had transformed the space into a wedding venue, blending rustic charm with elegant touches.

The drive to Poulsbo was a breeze (which any wedding vendor will tell you is a major win), and when I arrived, I was instantly captivated by the peaceful atmosphere. Surrounded by towering trees and charming antique decor, the farm exudes warmth, making it the perfect place for Cora + Dylan to begin their forever.
A Wedding Day Full of Thoughtful Touches
From the moment I stepped onto the property, it was clear that Andrea + Greg poured their hearts into the curation of Red Cedar Farm. This allowed Cora + Dylan to build on the incredible feeling of the venue and incorporate little bits of their own personalities in the finer details of their wedding day. It’s always been a reason I love photographing weddings, but all the personal touches Cora + Dylan chose made it really hard to nail down my favorite aspect!
For instance, this was the first wedding where I saw painted dinner plates (before they went viral on Tiktok!) and I immediately fell in love with this idea! Instead of traditional place settings, Cora + Dylan had a date night before the wedding where they painted their own dinner plates. If you’re looking for the best way to really create a cherished detail, steal this idea. Once your wedding day is over, you can continue to use them for your anniversary or even just your everyday dinnerware. A constant reminder of the love you share and the memories of your wedding day.

When it comes to crafty DIY elements, there’s nothing more charming than your favorite family members hand embroidering dozens of table numbers for you. Talk about a labor of love! If you’re really creative, you could keep your guest list small enough to only incorporate tables 1-12. Then after the wedding, add a month to each of those table numbers and turn these handmade details into a wall calendar!
A Nod to Nana: If you’ve ever been to a wedding where family legacy plays a big role, you know how emotional and beautiful it can be. Cora and Dylan honored Nana in the sweetest way—by placing mints in both bathrooms, a small but meaningful tribute that had guests smiling every time they reached for one.
Sunset Magic and Cat-Inspired Fun
As the day unfolded, the energy was nothing short of joyful. From heartfelt vows to laughter-filled toasts, every moment was infused with love and celebration. But two moments, in particular, stood out to me.
The Giant Cat Heads: Yes, you read that right. Cora and Dylan took their love for their feline friend to the next level by printing giant images of their cat’s head for a special dance. Seeing their guests’ reactions was priceless—because honestly, who wouldn’t love a surprise cat-themed moment at a wedding?
The Dreamiest Sunset Portraits: One of my favorite things about summer weddings is the golden hour glow, and this one delivered in the best way possible. With the sun dipping behind the trees, we snuck away for a quiet, intimate portrait session. The light was soft and warm, wrapping Cora and Dylan in a golden embrace that made for some of my favorite portraits ever. There’s something about those few stolen moments between a couple, just the two of them soaking in the day, that always tugs at my heart.

A Day to Remember
Cora and Dylan’s wedding was a perfect blend of romance, creativity, and personal touches, making it an unforgettable day not just for them, but for everyone lucky enough to witness it. Red Cedar Farm provided the dreamiest backdrop, and every carefully chosen detail told a story—their story.
