PNW Engagement Session at Pinnacle Peak

The Pacific Northwest isn’t known for the sun, so when we planned with Madison and Samuel for their PNW engagement session to include a hike up to Pinnacle Peak, it wasn’t surprising that Washington and Mother Nature decided to drop a storm on us! After almost an entire week of gorgeous weather, she gave us a day when most would choose to cancel or reschedule. Madison sent us a text asking if we were game to continue with the session as planned because the two of them were still game to do the hike in the rain for those true PNW Engagement photos. Traveling up from their home in Portland, it was very important to all of us that we were able to complete their engagement session over the weekend! Tiffany and I were totally game so, the four of us packed up our gear, umbrellas and (ignoring the thunder crack) made the trek up the side of Pinnacle Peak.

None of us had made this hike before, and little did we know it was quite a trek up the hill (Sorry Washington Trail Association, but I don’t think your calculations are correct for this one). After about a 45 minute hike, we passed a nice man who informed us that we were “about halfway” and probably had another hour to hike. Thankfully, we had just come upon the most beautiful view, and a generous clearing that provided some cover and beautiful Pacific Northwest vibes. By this time, the storm had stopped and the air around us started to cool off. A light mist came through, but no rain, no more thunder and the fog passed through beautifully.

We are so in love with these two, and they make a perfect pair. They love to check out new hikes and put us through our paces (though we don’t mind at all!). The love and connection they have with one another is easy to see. Together with their families, they’ll tie the knot this coming August. Tiffany and I are looking forward to photographing their wedding and honored to take part in their special day!
