Matlock Grange Wedding | Ashley & Brandon
Grange halls prove to be one of the gems for customizing your wedding. The Matlock Grange proved to be the perfect venue for Ashley and Brandon. Not only did this space provide the canvas to highlight their love, but it is located right down the street from their home, making it incredibly convenient for their sweet wedding.
A Match made in Heaven
Having met Ashley through our mutual friend Summer, I was honored when she asked me to photograph her wedding on a Friday in August. I’d been introduced to her fiance a year earlier at Summer and Michael’s Point Defiance Wedding, and the two of them were perfect for each other. So when the day came, I headed out from Bonney Lake to Matlock. At first, I wasn’t sure where Matlock was, but it proved to be a quaint little town out on the peninsula.
Rustic charm meets Exquisite Attire
Ashley wasn’t at the Matlock Grange when I arrived, so I set to work photographing her dress, boots and accessories. With a beautiful beaded bodice, those wedding dresses get heavy really fast! Ashley arrived just in time to put the exquisite gown on, and walk out the door to meet her groom for the first look. It was a first look to remember. Standing there with Brandon while Ashley walked up behind him, you could just feel the nervous excitement. He adores Ashley (as he should) and couldn’t wait to make her his wife. As he turned to look at her, he teared up just like many brides dream their grooms will do. It was one of the sweetest, most memorable first looks I’ve been honored to photograph.
The perfect party
The ceremony was short and sweet (just how we like them!) and the families joined us to get all those Christmas Card photographs. The Matlock Grange had a beautiful space backing up to a field that made the perfect backdrop for these extended family shots. Once we were finished (and we finished fast!) everyone headed back into the hall for a potluck and dancing. I’m so excited that these two have devoted themselves to each other and I can’t wait to see where their lives take them.
