Makenzie & Garret | Brookstom Creek Wedding

Kismet happens on a regular basis around here. It’s what lead me to Brookstom Creek, and what leads some pretty amazing couples to us as a whole. Makenzie and Garret were one such couple. These adorable lovebirds tied the knot in a beautiful October wedding where their high school teacher officiated their wedding.

Yes, you heard that right. They found their wedding venue because it’s owned by Bob and Angie. Bob was Makenzie’s high school teacher. I was lucky enough to be a preferred vendor at Brookstom Creek, so Angie sent Makenzie and Garret over to my booth at the Tacoma Wedding Expo. I loved getting to meet them ahead of time, as it’s not something I get to do often with my couples at Brookstom Creek. Plus I thoroughly enjoyed all the little ones at this wedding. There were no less than 4 babies (including my own) present; three bridesmaids walked down the aisle accompanied by their little ones. Makenzie and Garret’s little guy made an adorable ring bearer, even though he wasn’t thrilled about having his hawk done.

As far as dresses go, Makenzie’s was one of my favorites this year. IT HAD POCKETS! It’s amazing how thrilling something as small as pockets can be, and finding them in a wedding dress was a real chore up until recently. So seeing that Makenzie managed to snag one of these unicorn dresses was incredible. Plus it made things much easier when she needed to carry bits and pieces while they partied into the night. Guests showed off their break dancing skills (or just spun on the floor) and even Grandma was getting her groove on by the end! I was honored to share in their big day and truly felt right at home with Makenzie, Garret and their family. I know they’re having the time of their lives and wish them many happy years to come!
