LeMay Collection at Marymount Wedding | Gina + Wayne

This may seem cliché, but when you’re introduced by a friend named HotRod, there’s no better place to get married than LeMay Collection at Marymount. All joking aside, Gina + Wayne’s wedding was incredible, and a dream come true on all sides of the coin. Their wedding was marvelous with special guests; the General Lee and Wayne’s Harley.

When HotRod insisted on introducing the two of them, they both said NO. It took Wayne about a month to agree to drive to Bellingham as HotRod finally convinced them to meet. You can bet Wayne is glad he took that drive (he lived in Olympia), because they hit it off and he spent the next YEAR driving back and forth every other weekend. For those who aren’t local, it’s about a 150 mile drive  and takes a minimum of 2.5 hours to make. That calculation doesn’t factor in the ugly Seattle/Tacoma traffic on Fridays or Sundays. Talk about dedication! Lucky for Wayne, Gina ended up selling her house to move to Olympia. So I’d say his dedication paid off.

Wayne is a sly one for sure, and he pulled off a surprise proposal. The two of them had attended the lighting festival in Leavenworth together just a few months after they met. So when they went back the following year, Wayne took Gina down to the tree where they’d had their first picture taken. Wayne had purchased the ring months before hand and carried it with him. (Gina says they took this trip with a buddy of Wayne’s who was in on the whole thing. If you’re anything like me, you’re hoping the buddy got photos because Gina’s reactions are priceless!) As Gina set her stuff down for the photo, Wayne got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Seriously a brave move in public (have you seen Leavenworth? It’s almost always packed), but it obviously worked out for him!

Gina put a lot of thought into planning their wedding. Being a second wedding for both, they weren’t sure what they wanted originally, except when it came to the dress. Wayne requested a white dress, so Gina went all out! She took her daughter and her bestie, Tammy, to her bridal appointment knowing they would be brutally honest (but with humor!). When she tried on a dress that made her look like a curtain (I’m curious to see photos of this too), the attendant at David’s Bridal thought her group was too harsh. However, it gave them a lot of laughs and in the end they found the perfect gown.

Gina loved all the burgundy elements they saw (her favorite color is red), and selected to use this as her color palette. Sticking with more traditional and elegant styles, she put together a beautiful ceremony and reception. They chose to stick to small businesses for their vendors, supporting the local community and taking a lot of “to dos” off Gina’s plate.

Their LeMay Collection at Marymount wedding was fabulous. Friends and family from all over came to celebrate with Gina + Wayne, making this intimate wedding full of love. Spending the morning sharing stories in the bridal suite, touring the grounds of LeMay, the amazing entrances by both Gina + Wayne… there were so many awesome moments its impossible to choose a favorite. The wedding day went by too fast if you ask me, but before we knew it they were off to the after party with their crew.

Gina + Wayne, here’s to many more memories! Hopefully the future ones will be as memorable as the leaky camper adventure. Might want to snag an extra patch kit… you know, just in case. All my love, Mj
