Lauren + James Engaged!

When it comes to planning engagement sessions, I’m full of awesome ideas. But one of the things I’m always encouraging couples to do is to choose a location that holds a special place in your hearts. The majority of the time, I’m able to create magical moments, regardless of where we’re at. Lauren + James really took this to heart when they chose Browns Point Lighthouse Park. It turns out Lauren remembers being able to see the area as a kid from her grandpa’s property up the hill.

While we’d originally planned a mid-day engagement, divine intervention left us pushing the time to a June evening, just over an hour before sunset. I’m never one to push for sunset sessions (though I love them!), so it’s always a pleasant gift when our schedules mesh with the sunset. The downside to sunset tends to be that everyone else is out there enjoying it too. Haha!

When we arrived at Browns Point Lighthouse Park, the small parking lot was full and the community center parking lot was pretty busy as well. So, we hauled in our gear with the wagon and headed to the far end of the park where it appeared fewer people were spending time. Regardless of the dozens gathered at the park, we were able to find gorgeous angles to make it look secluded!

Lauren + James will be married this month and we cannot wait to celebrate with them!
