Kim & Eric’s Red Barn Engagement

My oh my oh my… Can we all just take a great big collective deep breath for FINALLY getting to shoot engagements again? The pure insanity that was the last three months of COVID-19 forced this engagement session to be rescheduled what felt like four times (but was really only once!). Thankfully they scheduled their wedding for July 2021, and we were finally able to make their red barn engagement dreams come true!

Their Red Barn Engagement

It’s been so long since I was able to visit the farm, and I was thrilled to see all the upgrades they’ve done in the past 5 months! My last session there was in December or January, when the majority of the farm was just an overgrown field. Since then, they’ve added a community garden with blueberries, raspberries and several other crops to the large center portion of the field. The outskirts still provide the beautiful long grass and thousands of pretty buttercups! I’m sure both myself and the bees thoroughly enjoy these spring goodies.

Meeting Kim and Eric at their red barn engagement was like meeting a lifelong friend. Maybe it’s my own tendency to feel those “deja vu” vibes, but I’m pretty sure I’ve met Kim in another life (though it might just be from another wedding). These two are just plain super cute together. Throughout their session we were able to chat and not only did they laugh at my dumb stories and jokes, but they even cracked a few of their own! I’m pretty sure I’ll be internally cracking up every time I explain the nuzzle pose thanks to this pair.

I’ve mentioned before that I love hearing those happy endings from online meetings! Kim and Eric met on Tinder and have been together for 3.5 years. During that time, they welcomed their beautiful daughter (whom I’m simply dying to meet!) and she got to play a part when Eric popped the question! One morning while Kim made breakfast, Eric proposed on one knee with their sweet girl holding the ring box!

Counting down to 2021

While COVID threw a wrench in their plans, these two are persisting and will tie the knot in 2021! I’m looking forward to their Rustic Brookstom Creek Wedding, and loved getting to know them at their Red Barn Engagement.
