Jackson Manor Events Lavender Styled Shoot
Jackson Manor A Premier Wedding Venue in Arlington, WA
As a long time wedding photographer, it’s been my pleasure to meet some of the finest vendors in Washington over the years. One of my favorite hidden gems is nestled in the heart of Arlington, Washington: Jackson Manor Events. Their French country-inspired elegance is set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Arlington foothills, less than an hour’s drive from the vibrant city of Seattle. I had the honor of attending one of their first styled shoots in 2021, and it kills me that I haven’t shared it yet.
Imagine exchanging vows amidst lush gardens, towering oak trees, and tranquil ponds—a scene straight out of a fairytale. With indoor and outdoor event spaces designed to accommodate both intimate gatherings and grand affairs, Jackson Manor offers endless possibilities for creating the wedding of your dreams.
A Family Business: The Jackson Manor Team
Jackson Manor wasn’t just the dream of a small family, but of a family already deeply entwined in the wedding industry. Britta, owner of Britta’s Brides, has been planning dream weddings for Washington couples since 2012. Chef Joel Jackson worked in some notable restaurants in Seattle before launching Twist Catering Company in 2017. The next natural step for these two incredible vendors was to open their own venue. From the moment you step foot on the grounds, you’ll feel the warmth and hospitality that define this family-owned business. The team has poured their hearts and souls into creating a space where love and laughter abound.
The team at Jackson Manor really understands that every love story is unique, which is why they offer customizable wedding packages to suit your individual style and preferences. Whether you’re envisioning a romantic garden ceremony, an elegant ballroom reception, or a cozy fireside gathering, our dedicated team is here to bring your vision to life. Plus, with all-inclusive packages and the flexibility to bring in your own vendors, planning your dream wedding has never been easier.
Jackson Manor Lavender Styled Shoot
Back in 2021, I was privileged to participate in one of the venue’s styled shoots. This beautiful purple color palette combined with the golden rays of sunset were dreamy to say the least. I’d had the honor of working with Britta on weddings in the past and knew she would have an incredible design for this shoot. Boy was I blown away when I arrived.
The bridal suite at the time, was upstairs in the main home. The only window in the room faces west, which fills it with warm golden light around sunset. That warm light makes epic rainbows and sun flares when the dress is placed just right. The Hair + Makeup team was hard at work already, and Britta had all the details set aside for us to start with.
She spared no expense, starting with the custom invitation suite featuring a hand sketched image of the Manor in all its glory. Deckled edges gave everything about this suite a creative flair and the lavender accents really brought the whole vision to life. (Believe it or not, an invitation can make or break a styled shoot. Especially when they aren’t featured at all.)
With various locations for dress and detail shots, I was thankful to have arrived early enough to test them all out. Really Zeke was still breastfeeding and I thought he would have needed more time when we arrived, but he didn’t, haha! I think my favorite though, was hanging the dress in the gazebo with the florals and macarons along with it. Quick Tip: If you’re having any sort of special treat, like macarons with your initials on it, request to pick them up early and order an extra few for your detail shots. They look amazing in flat lays with your rings and invitation suite!
The rest of the styled shoot was a fairytale. We chatted, photographed, danced and laughed with the couple. I love getting to know people and was shocked to learn these two hadn’t received photos from their wedding, which made their modeling for us even more special. They were game for every request I made, and even though the shoot took three hours longer than it should have, the ideas just kept flowing.
We ended the night after dark, with champagne and sparklers. Britta kindly amused me as she danced behind the couple with handfuls of sparklers while we attempted some pretty unique “ending” photographs for their gallery.
