Intimate Indoor Wedding at the Five2Five | Jessica + Jonathan
Without fail, the last wedding of the season makes me both joyful and sad at the same time. Celebrating with couples is one of my favorite things, and rounding out this year’s amazing weddings was the intimate indoor wedding Jessica + Jonathan designed for their day. It was a perfect day and the perfect end to our 2022 wedding season!
Rain, Rain, go away…
It wouldn’t be a PNW wedding season if I didn’t have to break out the umbrellas. After a super long summer of crazy 80-100 degree weather, I was beginning to wonder if the rain would make an appearance on any of our 2022 weddings. Alas, we woke up the morning of Jessica + Jonathan’s wedding to find it raining (which by the way is supposed to be good luck).
We arrived at Jessica + Jonathan’s home as the sun broke through the rain clouds. This gave me the chance to snag an outdoor dress shot, without risking getting it wet. Jessica’s wedding dress was beautiful and suited her personality wonderfully. I was stunned to find out she found it on Amazon for under $60! Paired with a jean jacket to keep warm and dry, it was the perfect outfit for her wedding day.
Pinnacle Peak Portraits
After some quick getting ready portraits, we jetted out to Pinnacle Peak in Enumclaw. If you’ve never done this hike, it’s a beautiful one, but it’s a little long for a wedding day timeline. However, at the beginning of the hike, there’s a rustic foot bridge which made for a wonderful first look spot. As a bonus, I really loved the variety of locations available at this one spot.
After they shared a few moments together on the bridge, we wandered a few feet up the trail for a different feel in their portrait gallery. Between the rain and the gorgeous colors, the trail gave off a fairytale vibe. Other parts of the park featured tall grasses (and I only fell in one hole!) and a field of trees. The sun peeked out from behind the clouds as we finished up our portraits and headed to the Five2five.
Intimate Indoor Ceremony
Jessica + Jonathan’s ceremony was setup indoors with the fireplace as their backdrop. The autumn vibes filled the space with small pumpkins, leaves and beautiful fall colors. Joined by their closest family and friends, they pledged their forever with a unique unity ceremony. Each held a jar of dirt from their childhood home (one in Washington, the other in Wisconsin) and “planted” a tree in a pot. I loved the idea of incorporating their childhoods to this tradition. Jessica placed their ceremony, vows and honeymoon itinerary in a beautiful notebook, which I know will become a cherished keepsake.
Their ceremony was incredibly intimate and opened to a laid back reception full of food, drinks and games. I’ve seen receptions like this before, but none of them featured games built by the couple like this one! Jessica made the ring toss game, and they brought several of their favorite board games. People played Uno, ring toss, and various other games.
Onto the Next Adventure
Jessica + Jonathan, it was a pleasure photographing your engagement and wedding day! We truly loved getting to know both of you, and I cannot wait to see where your adventures take you! Enjoy Iceland and I look forward to seeing all the photos when you come back! xoxo, Markie (+ Jake)
