Intimate Five2Five Sunset Wedding | Brittany + Chad
Do you remember January’s mountain session where Jake + I hiked through the snow with our couple to get amazing engagement photos? That was Brittany + Chad’s beautiful engagement session! If you don’t, you can read about it here! Their journey to married culminated last month at their intimate Five2Five sunset wedding.
Before we go any further though… you may have heard me say how I love that photographers get to hear the secrets first. When we met that day on the mountain, I was about 17 weeks pregnant and being our fourth kid, I looked VERY pregnant, especially in all my layers. (Hey, it was snowy and January. And I’m cold like 80% of the time. Right now I’m wearing a sweatshirt while I write. Don’t judge me.). I couldn’t say anything then (because I try not to ruin surprises!) but Brittany had just found out she was pregnant too!
Planning Their Wedding
If you’ve ever been pregnant as a bride or bridesmaid, you know the extra planning that goes into doing anything. Brittany + Chad’s intimate Five2Five sunset wedding was a testimony to this. For starters, Brittany wasn’t able to wear her original wedding dress. Finding a “maternity” styled dress was a challenge as options really lack in this department. But she was able to find a beautiful lace gown off a mall rack, and I’d never have guessed it wasn’t designed as a wedding gown.
Brittany + Chad reduced their guest list to make this the most intimate experience possible. With approximately 20 of their closest friends and family, they scheduled their wedding celebration to take place over 3-4 hours. Chad arrived first, headed into the groom’s suite to get dressed. Brittany then arrived, with her hair and makeup already in place and her best friend there to help her into her dress.
The Perfect First Look
I met up with Jake + Chad to set up the first look. Jake suggested we head to the far side of the venue where the background would be filled with beautiful shrubbery. I was mildly discouraged because it was such a long walk, but Brittany was game for it. You’ll be glad she was because the spot Jake picked was PERFECTION. After sharing their special moment together, we wandered the property for some beautiful portraits.
Their ceremony took place at sunset, followed by formal portraits, their first dance, cutting the cake and then their sparkler exit. With mentions of their little one, they tied the knot and started the next chapter of their lives together.
Brittany + Chad, It was an honor to celebrate with you and I cannot wait to see where your adventures take you. xoxo, Mj + Jake
