Murphy + Dustin | Intimate Elopement at the Tiny Farmstay in Gig Harbor, WA
Some days, it’s impossible to imagine the possibilities for an intimate elopement. The first time I photographed out at The Chittle Homestead for Tessa’s beautiful kitchen remodel that would be featured in The Perpetual You magazine. Upon arriving, she shared a delicious food spread that included some fresh figs from their garden, homemade gluten free bread and an incredible selection of cheeses. Tessa told me about her dreams of a Tiny House Farmstay. Built from sustainable and recycled materials, she created a beautiful oasis in away from the hustle and bustle of the city, where you can awake to the sounds of the chickens and the goats as the sun rises over the homestead.
The Tiny Farmstay is Born
When her dreams came to life, I was invited back out to photograph the beautiful new tiny house on her property. It’s become incredibly popular and guests from across the country are finding themselves visiting the Tiny Farmstay in Gig Harbor. Two of those guests decided their dream Washington visit included an intimate elopement in this Pacific Northwest oasis.
A Change of Plans
Murphy & Dustin flew into Seattle with their adorable little daughter Kenneth, and found themselves swept away by the romance of the evergreen state. The instance I met Murphy, I knew they were my people. Many of her details were found on Etsy (one of my favorite places), or like those adorable peg dolls, custom created by local artisans in Wisconsin. Her wedding set was purchased on Etsy, and we share the same style of engagement ring; a sign of great taste and destiny right? Many things went haywire during their intimate elopement, but Murphy kept a calm, go with the flow attitude. Both Murphy and Dustin adore their sweet daughter, and it was a joy seeing her play with the chicks.
A Tiny Farmstay Elopement
Murphy & Dustin’s sweet intimate elopement involved only a few family members and friends. Murphy’s mom, Dustin’s parents and their friend joined them on the homestead to witness their ceremony. While grandpa played with bubbles, keeping Kenneth happy, Murphy and Dustin shared vows, exchanged rings and sealed it all with a kiss. After their ceremony, Tessa brought out sweet treats, including homemade doughnuts, a gorgeous veggie and beet hummus spread, and delicious fritters for the guests to enjoy. The simplicity of this homestead elopement gave it a magical quality that only the PNW could muster.
Best wishes for the couple
I wish these two all the best back in Wisconsin, and hope they enjoyed their family time at the Tiny Farmstay in Gig Harbor. Thank you again for allowing us to share in your wedding day.
