Gold Creek Pond Engagement | Brianna + Brennan
Brennan and Brianna’s engagement session was all the way up at Gold Creek pond. This is one of my favorite areas to come to, for adventure sessions, just because I like the slower pace of the hike. You can walk all the way out and around the pond finding some really beautiful backdrops for photos.
I tend to prefer making a leisurely hike, and usually it takes about two hours to get all the way around the pond. Unfortunately, Brianna + Brennan got stuck in traffic, so I had plenty of time to scout out locations. Honestly, I love that I got to come up and find the perfect areas for their engagement photos. Would you believe my two favorite spots are less than a 7 minute trek from the parking lot? This short trek helped with the shorter timeframe, I was still able to succeed in creating their engagement images in my favorite areas.
Gold Creek Pond Adventure Engagement
I love when couple’s “stalk” my instagram and when I started posing Brianna I was completely blown away. It turns out she’d been checking out the poses I typically post, and I really didn’t have to direct her at all. Usually I’ll give small directions like “tilt your head this way” or “Look off over his shoulder” but I didn’t have to do much of that with her. She was amazing and nailed it with the “foot pop.” It’s totally obvious why Brennan loves her. She’s bubbly, funny and could give me a run for my money with her own jokes. I spent a lot of their session laughing and we got along great!
Having things in common feels like kismet at times; it’s just destiny that we meet certain people. When Brianna and I started talking at Gold Creek Pond, we found so many things in common. We’re both Taurus, spend an obscene amount at Target, love thrift shopping (ask be about the time I thrifted outfits for our entire family in Westport), and love Stitch Fix. It gave us a ton to talk about at their session!
Deception Pass Engagement
I always try to ask about the engagement story during your session. Brianna told me they’d already decided to get married, but Brennan wanted to make it official the right way. He asked her parents and planned to propose in a beautiful spot (I believe it was one of their favorites). Unfortunately, Brianna had a rough morning (and we all know how Taurus are when mornings are rough) and she was really upset. Her mom called while they were driving up and Brianna went on a rant for about 20 minutes regarding how terrible the day was. (Been there done that, am I right?). Immediately following the phone call, Brennan received a text message saying “Good Luck” from Brianna’s mom. You can bet he was terrified at how this would play out.
Once they arrived at Deception Pass, Brennan mustered up the courage to go ahead with the proposal regardless. He told Brianna she should take a photo of the water because it’s a totally different shade of blue that day, giving him time to get the ring out of his bag. He laughed as he told me this, because Brianna kept saying “I can’t get the right photo from here.” He was down on one knee, and she walked away from him before realizing what he was doing. She said she didn’t believe him (thought he was joking) so she booped him on top of the head. Lucky for us, she realized he was serious and said yes! Don’t you wish we could have seen this proposal play out?
I’m so excited for their wedding day and all their carefully thought out details. They met in Orchestra and had a violin string put into the band of Brennan’s ring (I can’t wait to see it) from Manly Bands. Brianna’s ring has a beautiful blue sapphire center stone, and they’ve put thought into all their details (but I don’t want to spoil the wedding blog post, so I’m going to stop here!). I’m so excited their wedding is next month and cannot wait to celebrate with them! Brennan, I promise my husband won’t be wearing khakis at your wedding. Congratulations you two!
