Five Sister’s Farm Wedding | Amanda + Mitchell

This Five Sister’s Farm wedding was the start of something beautiful, and not just Amanda + Mitchell’s marriage! When Amanda hired us, we were previously booked. Some creative thinking and Jake recommended we go separate directions… Me to one wedding, and him to Amanda + Mitchell’s.

Kismet or Fate: Either Counts

Life has a strange way of bringing people together, and Amanda + Mitchell’s Five Sisters Farm Wedding was more than a coincidence for us. I don’t remember exactly how Amanda said she found me, but as it turns out both Jake and I had connections with the couple long before we ever became wedding photographers. I graduated with Mitchell’s sister, and Jake graduated with Amanda + Mitchell!

Speaking of fate, you can read more about these high school sweethearts finding their way home to each other. Their Ft Steilacoom Engagement was last summer but still feels like yesterday!

Five Sister’s Farm Fun

I’m thrilled that Jake was willing to photograph this wedding alongside the amazing Sophia who took on the job of lead shooter for me. I’m currently enthralled with all the gorgeous photos they gave me to work with.

While I wasn’t in attendance, you can tell this crowd likes to party. The day started with Amanda and her gals getting ready in one of the two glamping tents on the property. They smiled and laughed while they prepped for the big reveal. Amanda had more than one surprise up her sleeve as well.

The first surprise was the dress. Amanda’s original dress had been replaced with a stunning lace number featuring an incredible train. (I know this not only from the photos, but because Jake called me raving about this train and wanting to borrow this dress for more detail shots. It’s not like he married a wedding photographer or anything.) Neither her God-Mother or her Mother-in-Law had seen the dress prior to her wedding day. You can tell by the photos, they were blown away.

The fun didn’t stop there though, as Amanda pre-planned for a surprise first look with Mitchell. Sweet little Aubrey came down in place of Amanda for a Daddy-Daughter first look that would melt the coldest hearts. We all know Mitchell has the biggest heart for their kids, and it shines in this moment.

Throwing the Timeline Away

When you plan a wedding with me, you’ll hear me tell you over and over “It’s your day, you can toss the timeline if you want”. Amanda + Mitchell’s Five Sister’s Farm Wedding did just that. When things started to go off rails, they abandoned the timeline and focused on what mattered most: That they were married.

The truth is, you won’t remember the timeline. My hope is, you won’t remember the things that went wrong. You will however, be married and have all the happy celebratory memories to cherish for years to come. Amanda + Mitchell embraced that whole heartedly.

Amanda + Mitchell,
Though I wasn’t able to be there personally, I am truly honored to have been trusted with the task of finding the most wonderful photography team for your wedding day. You two are meant for each other and I’m so glad to have played a part in your big day. Cheers to many wonderful memories for years to come!

xoxo, Markie
