Five Items you HAVE to register for

Wedding planning gets crazy and everyone has their opinion on what you should and shouldn’t register for. As a brand new wifey, I realize it’s a pain trying to decide what you should and shouldn’t register for. These are my top five things I highly suggest you put on your registry!

Big Ticket Item: A Kitchenaid* Stand Mixer

This baby has actually been with me since before my FIRST marriage, and she’s still chugging away with regular use. If you don’t already own one of these workhorses, definitely register for one. It’s pretty sitting on your counter and it even shreds chicken. Plus there’s a host of attachments to make everything from pasta to your own sausages. Even your man is going to love that!

Big Ticket Item: A Generator

This sounds ridiculous, but honestly, a generator comes in handy here in the PNW. According to my adorable husband you can use it for tailgating, camping AND when your power goes out! Who knew? (Not me obviously). Nothing is more romantic than a power outage where you can still snuggle and play videogames in the dark.

Gift under $50: Magnolia Table* (Or any great cookbook)

If you haven’t been cooking long, or just hated cooking for one, you’re going to need a good cookbook. My favorite right now is the Magnolia Table by Joanna Gaines. Not only are the recipes amazing, but when you get an abundance of random cooking gadgets, you’ll know which ones to return for store credits. There’s a whole list of her every day kitchen tools in the cookbook.

Gift under $50: Cast Iron Skillets

Honestly, if you have a grandma willing to pass down her cast iron, try to register for hers. Haha! I love a good seasoned cast iron skillet, and trying to season your own is a pain in the arse. But these heavy duty kitchen gadgets will take your meals from drab to fab. Toss some chicken in and brown it, saute some veggies, then crisp it all up in the oven. Your new hubby will think he’s dining at a 5 star restaurant (until you teach him to cook it).

Priceless Gift: Experiences through Zola*

One of our favorite things that we registered for, was a food tour of Pike Place Market. Being a PNW girl who loves a good treat, I’ve visited the market many times in my life. I can honestly say it’s not every day that you get to really experience the market. Hear stories of the people who started it all, sample delicious goodies and spend a few hours on a unique date with your honey. It’s a wonderful experience that I’d never known about had I not registered on Zola.

These are just a few of my favorite things. You can add anything you want to your dream registry. A honeymoon fund, concert tickets, new lingerie. The options are endless. Make your dream list, then go out there and register!

Now that you found the top items to register for, let’s start planning your timeline!
