Fall Copper Gables Wedding | Alex + Travis
Without fail, the last six weeks of wedding season flew by and I suddenly woke up facing November. I always look forward to late summer weddings, and the incoming fall weather (hello, sweaters and fuzzy boots!), then they’re suddenly here and I feel a bit like I’m drowning. I wouldn’t have it any other way though, because it means I get to photograph incredible things like this Fall Copper Gables Wedding.
Alex + Travis’ Fall Copper Gables Wedding
It’s always so interesting to shoot the same venue with different couples. I’ve told you before that no two weddings are the same, and this still holds so true! Barely a month before this wedding, I was at Copper Gables Barn for another wedding and both of them were SO DIFFERENT in the end! Jake and I walked into Alex + Travis’ wedding day knowing the venue and what we needed. I’d recently gone to The Reset Conference and upgraded my lighting equipment with this wedding in mind.
Alex + Travis met through work when they both responded to the same call (they’re both police officers for reference). However, they both signed up on the same dating app and matched when they each swiped right. Obviously it worked out wonderfully and their wedding was a testament to how perfect they are for each other.
All Smiles
Every wedding has it’s mishaps or malfunctions; I like to tell brides it’s not uncommon for weddings to be 30-45 minutes late EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. But sometimes things happen, and people run late. Even during the stressful moments where promptness lacked, Travis kept Alex smiling the whole day. We’re not talking a “just the lips” smile either. Travis makes Alex smile with her whole face with his silly antics, like pulling out a whole roll of paper during his vows.
I was blessed shooting this wedding, and even got the chance to work with an acquaintance! Alan Chitlik is an amazing DJ and he kept the party going while Alex + Travis snuck out to play in the dark with me. Alex + Travis will have many amazing adventures together and I cannot wait to see where they end up! Their wedding was so much fun and I’m thrilled to have been a part of it!
