Escape to Edlynn Farm | Country Glam Vendor Highlight
It’s no question that my favorite places are those where your soul feels instantly at peace. Edlynn Farm proved to be one such place, from the moment I turned on the long gravel drive. Posts on Facebook say “Escape to Edlynn Farm” and they’re not kidding. This beautiful wedding venue is truly an escape.
Following the long gravel drive, my soul was celebrating; I’d found a dream in the middle of Graham. To the right, I could see rows of plants (though at the time, I was unaware this was also a tree farm!) and an incredible view of Mount Rainier. When I came to the corner at the top of the hill, I squealed with excitement. The view from the top of the hill gave way to the large wedding barn, future bridal house and a view of the valley. I was completely blown away and hadn’t even entered the actual venue.
A Masterpiece Barn
The barn at Edlynn Farm is a truly magnificent work of heart! Walking in the thick custom front sliding doors (they’re 4” and hefty! Everything a barn door should be!) you’re greeted by a beautiful farm table, the perfect spot to set out programs, fans or whatever welcoming item you’d like your guests to pick up. The chandelier above the table chimes softly as the breeze picks up. Beyond the table, the barn offers a large blank canvas with plenty of room for up to 325 of your favorite people.
Their huge covered patio offers guests the option to get fresh air, without getting wet, and a view of the mountain when she’s not playing peek-a-boo in the clouds. Additionally, you can get married at various other spots on the grounds. Almost everywhere offers that beautiful mountain and valley view.
Calling all Magnolia Fans
One of those items that tends to be often overlooked or feel like a last thought are the bathrooms. The bathrooms at Edlynn Farms are NOT those bathrooms. The team channeled their inner Jo Gaines spirits on this project, and created a bathroom I never wanted to leave. It legit felt like something straight out of Magnolia Journal and features the handiwork of local craftsmen. A beautiful custom vanity was built with open shelves and leads the eye to the rustic framed mirrors above the handmade white countertop. Plus the bathroom stalls are HUGE. If you’ve ever tried to enter a bathroom stall with a child, you know how important this is for the parents of your flower girl and ring bearer.
There is so much about Edlynn Farm that I truly love, and I know you will too! Below you’ll find my interview with the Edlynn Farm team and learn more from their own words!
In their own words
First up, please tell me a bit more about you and your Edlynn Farm:
“We are Edlynn Farm – a family established, owned and operated Christmas Tree farm sitting on 46 acres in Graham, Washington. We also have a 7,000 square foot, vintage-inspired wedding barn on the property. It was designed to be the perfect backdrop for any event – from the most formal to the most casual. A classic white farmhouse flanks the barn that was designed for bridal parties to use to get ready on the big day. Three households, six adults, and two very little ones comprise our Edlynn Farm team. We take immense pride in this piece of property and can’t wait to share it with brides, grooms, families, friends, and Christmas Tree buyers for years to come.”
What made you dream of opening Edlynn Farm as a wedding venue?
“When purchasing the property in February 2018, it was an undeveloped 46 acres referred to as the “stump farm”, with piles of logging debris, brush and stumps dotting the property. But even amidst all the mess, there was something special about this place and we knew that once we cleaned it all up, we had to share it with those around us. So once we got the initial crop of Christmas Trees planted, we started looking for other things that we could do on the property – and after much prayer and consideration, the dream for the Edlynn Farm wedding venue was born.”
What do you enjoy most about being a venue owner and weddings in particular?
“First and foremost, we enjoy our piece of property. We enjoy the quiet, the space and the views. It always feels like a tiny escape whenever we come to work and that is a huge blessing for us.
As far as what we enjoy about weddings, we love being able to be a part of someone’s special day and being able to be a witness to all the love and joy that comes with a wedding day.”
Do you have a favorite story from a wedding or working with a couple?
“Kind of a crazy, comical story from our very first wedding. We were just completing construction as guests were arriving for the rehearsal dinner – I mean we were building bathroom stalls, hanging mirrors, loading up table saws and blowing sawdust off of the covered patio. We had a large Sunbelt Rentals truck picking up the equipment we had used for construction – he also struggled to get up our newly graveled road and had to give it multiple attempts. The thought definitely crossed our minds “what are we doing – we are not ready”, but the weekend went off without a hitch and we were fortunate enough to be a part of Caleb & Taylor’s special day. Since they were our first wedding, it will always hold a special place within our hearts.”
What is one question you always ask during an initial consultation?
“Now that you’ve seen the barn & grounds, how do you envision using Edlynn Farm for your special day?”
If you could give couples only one piece of advice for their wedding, what would it be?
“It goes quickly – try to enjoy each and every moment together.”
What is the best course of action for couples to take when trying to choose a wedding venue?
“Look for a venue and a space that makes your heart flutter and don’t settle. The space – no matter how simple or elaborate – needs to excite you and be the perfect backdrop to make your vision come to life. If you can’t envision your guests in the space and it leaves you feeling underwhelmed, then it may not be the perfect fit.”
