Crystal Mountain Elopement | Kiera & Wade

A mountain elopement with a bride in a black dress? Yes please. I fully, one hundred and ten percent believe in fate. People are brought into our lives for many reasons, one being to show us the way to our true selves. Every wedding this year has been that way for me. Keira and Wade’s Crystal Mountain Elopement was just another reminder I’m doing what I most love.

A Match Made at Brookstom Creek

Keira and Wade found me through their Brookstom Creek wedding package. As a preferred vendor I’m blessed to shoot several weddings a year at this beautifully versatile venue. But Keira approached me with a different vision. They wanted to get married at a place that held both their hearts with just select friends and family, then party at Brookstom later that weekend.

Crystal Mountain Elopement dreams come true

Crystal Mountain Resort is a pretty magical place no matter what time of year you’re there. For me, this was my first visit in the summer, but like Keira and Wade, I’d spent many winters up on the slopes of Crystal. With the gondola in place, it’s worth a visit for the incredible views from the top. Their vision of eloping on the mountain side was a dream come true.

Two unique personalities = True Wuv

Meeting Keira in person was incredible and I immediately fell in love with her dazzling personality. It was easy to see why Wade fell in love with her. She has an energy that simply makes you feel alive as it buzzes through conversation. Any bad feelings you have around her just melt away, and I knew this was going to be one wild ride.

I wasn’t able to meet Wade in person until the day of, but through phone and text he let me in on a little surprised he’d come up with for Keira. She’d chosen to forgo a wedding band (which I don’t blame her for… the custom engagement ring Wade designed for her was just as dazzling as her personality), so he’d found a beautiful geode and made it into a ring box. Inside was his great grandmother’s ring to be passed to Keira as she officially joined their family. Cue all the tears.

Climbing mountains makes beautiful elopements

The day of their wedding started a bit chilly at the top of Crystal Resort. I was glad to be 7 months pregnant because it’s like having a built in heater. Otherwise the cold would have been completely unbearable. How Keira did it in that sleeveless dress without turning blue? Good genes is my best guess. Their first look was fun and different as I caught Wade’s reaction while Keira and I rode up in the gondola versus being able to stage it elsewhere.

Of course, Mount Rainier had to play with our emotions that day and just barely peeked around the clouds during the ceremony. But after a delicious lunch, she showed her full glory and we were able to get a few dream photos. It was a beautiful day and perfect for these two love birds.
