Copper Gables Barn Wedding | Jessica + Greg
Every single wedding this year feels like we waited forever… only to have it fly by when you blinked. Jessica + Greg’s Copper Gables Barn wedding definitely felt that way! When we met in person for the first time at their engagement session, I knew this wedding would go on my favorites list!
Copper Gables Barn Wedding Venue
I’ve driven past Copper Gables Barn many times in route to other weddings. When Jessica told me they’d chosen this venue, I was stoked to finally photograph it. From the outside, you may not be overwhelmed, but this venue is proof that looks can be deceiving. Inside the gates has a beautiful garden style yard which was perfect for family, wedding party and couples portraits. Plus there are little hidden gems around the venue if you know where to look. Inside has beautiful bride and groom suites, along with plenty of areas for people to sit and relax by the fire or mingle at the long tables.
Upstairs will blow you away though. The barn’s high vaulted ceilings with an exquisite arrangement of chandeliers provided a stunning location for Jessica + Greg’s ceremony. While toasts took place downstairs, the staff and a few strong guys flipped the room for their reception. Seriously, it was stunning!
Unique First Look Twist
We talk a lot about the first look around here because it’s a time where the two of you get to see each other without the pressure of all eyes on you. For Jessica + Greg, they both wanted different things; He wanted the traditional first look down the aisle. She wanted a first look alone, just the two of them. So they found a unique way to compromise: with words. Each of them wrote a letter to the other, then passed them via the best man and maid of honor before their ceremony. There was a joke about someone stealing the other’s paper, because they’d both chosen the same paper for their letters.
Everyone else left the room while they read these letters, except myself and Jake. I stayed quietly with Jessica, while Jake stayed with Greg. It was a romantic and sentimental way for them to ease their nerves before Jessica walked down the aisle. It also created a wonderful keepsake from their wedding day.
Adventures Ahead
Sharing in Jessica + Greg’s Copper Gables Barn wedding was a perfect Friday for me. I’m truly blessed to have gotten the chance to celebrate with these two, and watch them join their lives together. Their story may have started with a lockdown, but I’m so glad it didn’t end there. I cannot wait to watch the adventures they take together, and *fingers crossed* Greg will get to continue decorating for Halloween every year. A little birdy told me he was excited to decorate this year. 😉
