Buckley Main Street Engagement | Rachael + Mario
I’m always on the lookout for adorable local spots to do engagement photos. One of those spots that’s been at the top of my list for a while is Buckley Main Street. You’d better believe I jumped at the chance to shoot there when Rachael + Mario needed a last minute engagement session!
Running out of Time
No matter if your engagement is 13 days or 13 months, sometimes we just simply run out of time to get everything done leading up to the wedding. In the past 10 years I’ve been to maybe 2 weddings where something wasn’t forgotten or overlooked. There is just no way to check everything off when you have a life to live too! So, don’t ever feel bad if your wedding day rolls around and you forgot something. It’s a small mishap in the wonderful picture of life!
As it turns out, Rachael + Mario had eloped the year before in Vegas, so engagement photos weren’t super high on the list of “need to dos”. I’m an encourager though, and one of my favorite things to encourage is a quick engagement session, even if you don’t need it. I can work magic in 20 minutes if you’ll let me! Rachael + Mario agreed and we met up in Buckley.
Buckley Main Street Engagement
The day of the session, Rachael + Mario pulled up in their Subaru Outback and stepped out in the prettiest outfits! Rachael embraced the retro feel of Buckley Main Street and really nailed her look! Her pleated dress and pearl dotted headband made me feel warm and fuzzy. It was like stepping into a time machine!
We toured the town, finding all the cute nooks and crannies for photos. Something about that old main street feel reminded me of my childhood and how happy everything was then. There was magic that just hung in the air, so thick you could almost taste it. As we chatted about their wedding, and they interacted with each other, you could feel the love surround them.
While we may have only spent 15-20 minutes together, (and maybe 10 of those actually taking photos) it was a dream engagement. I am so honored to have been their photographer and even though I missed their wedding day due to a family emergency, I know their wedding day was incredibly special.
