Browns Point Improvement Club Wedding | Nicole & Kevin
Nestled in North Tacoma, the Browns Point Improvement Club sits overlooking Commencement Bay. One whole wall of windows lends to the feel of being right on the water. Slightly north sits the Browns Point Lighthouse, making this a perfect location for any water loving couple.
An Early Return
We ran into Nicole and her mom one random day in our small town Fred Meyer. While chatting, it naturally came up that Nicole was planning her wedding. Jake, being the ever supportive fiance, immediately offered my services as a wedding photographer. Being long time family friends, it seemed only natural that I’d be the one to photograph their wedding. At the time, none of us realized we would be getting married a whopping 3 days apart! For those who’ve met my husband, ya’ll know he’s the first to complain about his “workaholic wife”. So you can imagine my surprise when he willingly returned from our own honeymoon early for Nicole and Kevin’s Wedding.
Planning for November
When I met Kevin for the first time, it was easy to see why Nicole picked him. From an awesomely sarcastic sense of humor to the no F&%$s given attitude, we clicked right away. As Nicole and Keven told me their wedding day plans, I was thrilled to be both their photographer, and a friend planning beside them. We shared ideas, and Kevin told me about his wish to find a Drag Queen to MC the night. I may have squealed. There’s nothing I love more than a unique aspect to a wedding. Of course, knowing Kevin, he was determined to find the perfect MC… And he most definitely did.
Browns Point Improvement Club
The Bowns Point Improvement Club made the perfect backdrop for Nicole and Kevin’s wedding. While we were all hoping for a gorgeous sunset through the wall of windows, Washington had other plans. The grey and dreary day didn’t stop us from heading to the beach for a few couples portraits though. And you’d better believe that everyone died laughing when Kevin “mooned” the camera in his Groom boxers. That photo was actually a finalist in the 2019 Shoot and Share contest! Everyone loved it.
A Night to Remember
Not only was the Browns Point Improvement Club perfect for their wedding and reception, but it offered plenty of room to do what they wished. Their amazing MC, Christian, kept the party moving as she cracked jokes between songs. The couple’s wishes for a lightsaber exit, was a marvelous way to end the night. The night ended all too soon, but my husband and I needed to get back to our honeymoon, so we cut out while the guests continued to party.
May the Odds be ever in your favor
Nicole and Kevin,
Thank you for allowing me the joy of being your wedding photographer. I wish you all the happiness in the world and cannot wait to celebrate with you down the road.
Much Love,
Markie
