Brookstom Creek Wedding Venue | Megan & Don

Every bride wants their best friend by their side and this Brookstom Creek Wedding was no different. Vibing was easy with Megan, like finding your number one soul sister! When she introduced me to Don, he was hesitant to trust me (after all, I was the photographer and he wasn’t thrilled about photos) but even he was easily won over.

A Touch of Fate

Megan and Don were fate from the start. Having lived on the same street, they met in 3rd grade. But this isn’t your typical high school sweetheart wedding. Megan and Don were friends, but went on to live separate lives with relationships that gave each of them a son. Eventually fate stepped in and they decided to combine their families. Megan is definitely one of my people… When Don tried to propose, Megan kept wandering off or complaining she was cold. So instead of proposing out on the Wynoochee Dam, he improvised and proposed in the car. Ladies, we all love a man who can roll with the punches am I right?

Dream Wedding Venue

Megan confessed that her original vision for their wedding was a “small wedding with lots of flowers.” But when they found Brookstom Creek and it’s incredible charm, that quickly changed. Her vintage palette (based off her favorite movie, Steel Magnolias) was perfect with the rustic elements of the venue. Angie and the team was an added bonus, helping Megan so that she didn’t have to DIY anything.

A Favorite Brookstom Creek Wedding Moment

Megan and Don admit to having a wonderful time throughout the day, with the vendor team going above and beyond what she could ever have imagined. Of course, every bride has a favorite moment and Megan confides that she had two! The first was when her dad, Jamie, handed her off to Don. The second was the incredible dirty shirley’s the Brookstom Creek bartender was serving. I may have requested the bridal party drink an extra for me.

Choosing “The Dress”

While some brides search high and low for that perfect dress, Megan found “The Dress” on the first try. Megan says: “The gown with that I wore was the second one that I chose. My mother and my girls all went out one day; while they were trying on dresses they demanded that I try a couple as well. My sister chose the one that I wore, she saw it on the shelf and knew it was definitely my dress for the big day. As soon as I put it on I knew it was the ONE!”

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Bailey

Megan & Don, It was an honor photographing both your engagement session and beautiful Brookstom Creek wedding. I truly enjoyed every moment we spent together and wish you many years of happiness. The road may get bumpy but you two will find a way. All my love, Markie.
