Altimeter Cabin Winter Wedding
It’s no surprise how much I love this cabin. My family has stayed here on a few occasions, and it’s quickly becoming our home away from home. Every time we’re up there, I try to photograph a few details for Andrea to market the cabin. In November we woke up to snow one morning, and I began dreaming of this Altimeter Cabin Winter Wedding.

The venue itself is perfect for elopements year round. I wanted to highlight that aspect, focusing on just two people getting married in the forest. I first found the perfect bouquet, boutonniere and cake inspiration on Pinterest. Right away I knew Karrie of Karrie Michelle Floral Design was my first pick for creating an incredible bouquet. I always feel like I’m challenging her when I send a single image, but she NEVER disappoints!
When it came to the cake, I’m always on the lookout for new cake artists. I’d had my eye on Krista from KS Apothecakery for a while and knew I wanted her in on this shoot! I first met her years ago through our daughters’ friendship, and this Altimeter Cabin Winter Wedding was the perfect chance to work with her.
The rest of the shoot was a little harder. Picking reception details are not my favorite thing to do. So I enlisted the help of 413 Events to coordinate those. The “worst part” of putting all this together was trying to find models. Every model we lined up ended up having to cancel for one reason or another. While it was totally out of anyone’s control, it was frustrating. At the very last minute, Jake offered to step in and I asked our hair and makeup artist, Tosha, if she would be willing to as well. Thankfully they both agreed and I got a good challenge out of the deal!
