A dream is a wish your heart makes….

One of those venues that many photographers dream of happens to be Thornewood Mansion. Nestled in the heart of Lakewood, it’s a bit of a surprise that this gorgeous castle actually exists. We were thrilled to be photographing Tristan and Haylee’s fairytale wedding at this location.

Starting the day at Wright Park, we met with Haylee and her bridesmaids (all 7 of them!) to photograph portraits. As Haylee emerged from the car, I exclaimed excitedly, “Oh My! Elsa is here! She looks just like Elsa!” And she really truly did. Even when my children saw her photos later, they mistook this gorgeous bride for the Disney Princess.

Little did I know that we’d be walking into a Disney Dream Wedding later that day. Every table was adorned with displays from classic Disney films, such as Peter Pan and The Lion King. Every princess movie was represented and of course, you can’t have Disney without the Mouse. Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy were all represented in Haylee’s carefully crafted centerpieces. Atop her three tiered cake sat Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, making the entire room glow with Disney joy (and this particular photographer ache to go back to her favorite place in the universe).

My final surprise came when I met Tristan. He literally beamed at me and I thought I’d walked straight into a Disney movie faced with one of their handsome Disney Princes (I pinched myself. I was awake.) Everything about this wedding, from an Elsa look alike to the Prince look alike, came together seamlessly with the amazing coordination efforts of Magical Moments by Maxwell. It was seriously a dream wedding and I was truly honored to photograph every minute of it.
