A Thrilling 2025 Seattle Wedding Show Recap
Seattle Wedding Show Recap: All of our favorite things!
In case you missed it, the 2025 Seattle Wedding Show did not disappoint! For those lovely couples who stopped by our booth, you already know — we came armed with coffee, cameras, and our signature mix of humor and real talk. This year, we had some incredible conversations, met so many amazing couples, and even got to squeeze one of our brides in the best kind of bear hug (Caitlin, we are so excited to celebrate with you!).
Even though the 2025 Seattle Wedding Show was a whirlwind weekend, there were some pretty key things that stood out to us. From emotional attendees (in all the right ways) to questions that we expected and those we didn’t, we’re diving in deep today with all the drama you’d expect from a show this big.
The 2025 Seattle Wedding Show Question I kept hearing
If I had a dollar for every time someone asked this, I could probably pay for a fancy dinner at Elliott’s Oyster House. But this question comes up for GOOD REASON and we all understand why. The question is: “What happens if you loose our photos?”

Talk about nightmare fuel. As a former bride whose photographer missed a key photo at our wedding (the coveted photo of our newly blended family: mom, dad and daughters) I legit have nightmares about a card failing or “losing” those incredibly important family photos. More than once a mother of the Bride/Groom mentioned someone they knew (or a family member) ended up without any photos of their family on their wedding days.
Let’s level for a minute because I find this absolutely unacceptable, and we do everything in our power to make sure your memories aren’t at risk (which includes me carrying my camera bag AND computer bag into Costco because we needed eggs on the way home). First things first: We use cameras that have “dual card slots” so we always have TWO copies of everything being recorded on our camera.
Second: During the day, you’ll see times where Jake or Emi is photographing and I’m not visibly present. If you searched for me, you’re likely to find my computer and I tucked away in a corner backing your photos up while you eat. (I promise I’m always back for those special moments! You’re probably eating dinner while I’m downloading photos.) This gives me an opportunity to scroll through and make sure we haven’t missed anything, like Dad, Grandpa and the Groom together. If we have, I’ll come find you to ensure we get those important photos that might be missing. Bonus, this gives us a third copy of your memories before we’ve left the building.
Of course, we also have backup cameras and lenses, so if anything happened to one of those, we’re still golden. And our backup systems have backup systems. For real if an asteroid hit our house, we’d probably still have copies of your photos somewhere. (Not that we’re planning for asteroids, but, you know, just in case.)
Worst case scenario: if all our backups fail and that asteroid does show up, or we leave the venue to find we missed a photo, I will do everything in my power to recreate your photos. If this means we’re scheduling a family portrait session at your venue with everyone dressed in their wedding attire, so be it. And if someone has passed away prior to our recreation, I know a fabulous painter who can help make that coveted image come to life in a priceless heirloom. Which is much cooler than any image I could photoshop.

“These aren’t just your ordinary photographers.” Cue happy tears.
Okay, I won’t lie—this was my favorite thing we heard at the 2025 Seattle Wedding Show. I legit jumped for joy when I heard this. Reminisce with me… we’d just chatted with a lovely couple and they’d begun to walk away. I was resetting all our albums when I heard a mom say “Hold up. Let me show you what I mean.” As she began explaining, I asked her to come closer so I could listen, and boy did she make my day.
She explained that while we still showed the “necessary” images in our albums, all of our showcase images felt like they’d been photographed by the couple’s best friends. Each one told a unique story and gave a glimpse of the couple’s personality. She could tell just by looking at our images that we spent time getting to know each pair prior to their wedding day.
She put into words everything we’ve strived for over the past 15+ years. We’re not just here to snap pretty pictures and call it a day. We’re here to capture your story, your weird and wonderful personalities, your emotional moments, and everything that makes your wedding day uniquely you. We WANT you to look back at your wedding album and feel every moment again. Because that’s what truly matters—not just stiff poses or Pinterest-perfect shots, but the real stuff. The happy tears. The grandma hugs. The way your partner looks at you when they think no one else is watching.
Video Packages: A Huge Hit (and Our Go-To Recommendation)
We were so thrilled with the positive feedback at the 2025 Seattle Wedding Show on our video packages! We love capturing wedding films that feel authentic, like something you’d find on a VHS in your grandma’s attic — no cheesy filters or awkwardly staged moments, just the raw, beautiful emotion of your day. Couples loved the idea of something short and sweet, while still getting the important parts: ceremony video and audio. We’re excited to continue this offer for the next several years, and Emi is already training for it.
That said, we also know that some couples are looking for a more polished, editorial-style video, and we’re always happy to recommend other pros who specialize in that style. If that’s what you’re looking for, Best Made Videos is our top pick every single time. They’re incredible, and we fully trust them to take amazing care of our couples.
The 2025 Seattle Wedding Show Question NOBODY asked
It sounds pretty dumb, but sometimes I ask google or chatgpt to tell me the most asked wedding photography related question. Next to photography pricing… it’s always a posing question. “How do we pose for wedding photos?” “Do we need to learn wedding poses?” “What are the most popular wedding poses?” So it came as a shock that nobody asked me about our posing technique. Maybe it’s because our booth photos speak for themselves? (Or maybe you all just trust us to make you look amazing—thank you for that, by the way!)
Just in case you’re curious, here’s our secret: We use a very limited number of poses as the basis for our portraits. This simplifies the process so you don’t have to remember or learn on the fly a dozen different ways to stand. From there we guide you into natural interactions using several “off the wall” prompts (How sexy can you say the Pledge of Allegiance or sing the ABCs? If you’re already laughing just thinking about it, you’re our people. Heck if you’re now imagining yourself or your partner trying to do this, you’re our people). Our couples spend their sessions full of laughter and genuine smiles. At the end they always tell us how comfortable they felt, even if they usually hate being in front of a camera. It’s not about stiff, awkward angles. It’s about making you look and feel like you, just on your best day ever.
2025 Seattle Wedding Show Emotional Rollercoaster

If you visited our booth, you probably saw one of our favorite photos of Murphy (our sweet bride who stopped to breastfeed her toddler right before walking down the aisle delaying her elopement for a few moments). And let me tell you—Moms had feelings about this one.
We had so many heartfelt conversations about the importance of capturing those once-in-a-lifetime moments, especially with family members (two-legged and four-legged alike). Because, at the end of the day, your wedding photos aren’t just for now—they’re for forever.
Looking Ahead: Port Townsend, Puyallup, and Booking Your Spot
Up next? We’re heading to Port Townsend soon for some venue walkthroughs (we love scoping out the best photo spots before your big day!). And if you missed us at Seattle, don’t worry—we’ll be at the Puyallup Wedding Show too!
As for weddings, we’re currently booking for 2025 and 2026. If you’re planning a wedding, here’s our biggest piece of advice: Get yourself on our VIP Client List NOW by booking your engagement session today!
Why? Because booking season is like musical chairs.
A lot of couples think they have tons of time, but dates disappear fast. By booking an engagement session with us now, you get a low-risk way to try our services—without committing to the full wedding package yet. And when peak booking season hits? You’ll be first in line.
If someone else inquires about your wedding date before you’ve officially booked? We’ll give you a 24-hour heads-up. But after that, if we don’t hear from you, we’ll assume you’ve found another photographer and open the date to the next couple in line.
So if you’re even thinking about booking with us, let’s get your engagement session on the calendar! That way, you have the best chance at securing your dream wedding date.
Final Thoughts: Seattle, You Were Amazing
From the meaningful conversations to the incredible couples we met, the Seattle Wedding Show was everything we hoped for and more. If we got to chat with you, thank you—we loved every second of it. And if you didn’t get a chance to stop by, don’t worry—we’d still love to connect!
