13 Wedding Weekend Getaways
Forget the wedding day: The wedding weekend is here!
A new trend in weddings, it’s becoming clearer that couples aren’t interested in limiting their celebrations to one day. Why on earth did anyone think it was a good idea to cram ALL THESE THINGS into one day? Being able to space them out and take time to relax with your favorite people is definitely the way to do it. Wedding venues are picking up on the trend too. Below are 13 gorgeous wedding weekend getaways that will make your dream day ultra special!
Shangri-La on the Green
This incredible Enumclaw venue offers a beautiful ‘middle of nowhere’ feel (yet it’s really only about 20-30 minutes from downtown Enumclaw) with limited cell service, RV hookups and rustic lodge with a sleeping loft to get out of the PNW rain that will surely hit at some point.
Woodland Lodge & Farm
A couple years ago, I had the honor of touring Woodland Lodge and Farms during the Kitsap Wedding Tour. This unique venue is WAYYYYY off the beaten path, and that’s a wonderful thing. Nestled deep in the woods of Port Ludlow, this wedding weekend getaway has enough room for you and 8 of your closest friends in the huge lodge. Bonus? This venue is a farm to table sponsor, so fresh goodies (like eggs) are definitely on the menu.
Anderson Lodge
If you have a huge family, or just want 200 of your closest friends staying to party with you, Anderson Lodge is your go to. With 43 twin beds and 12 double beds, there’s room for everyone to stay the weekend. Add in the tent camping and RV sites, and even Grandma will be at home here.
Nature Bridge
Nature Bridge is probably one of my top 3 on this list, if for no other reason than they give back to the community by providing hands-on environmental science programs to 700 schools and 30,000 students each year. With enough overnight accommodations for 150 people (including the couple and wedding party), snag your favorite historic cabin for a wedding night you’ll never forget.
Lost Mountain Lodge
With micro weddings becoming a huge thing, Lost Mountain Lodge is a perfect wedding weekend getaway for you and 12 of your besties. The lodge itself holds up to 40 guests inside, with overnight accommodations for 14 people total. Need more lodging for your friends? Nearby hotels offer additional lodging options for those who just need a single night.
Cabin creek lodge
Found on AirBNB, this incredible property sleeps up to 40 people making it a great option for your micro wedding weekend getaway. East of the mountains on the Yakima River, you’re likely to get great weather May through September. This one books up quick though, so snag your weekend while you can!
Altimeter Cabin
Located just outside of Mount Rainier National Park, Altimeter Cabin is quickly becoming a favorite getaway of mine. My husband and I have several weekends booked here ourselves. The sweet little cabin is the perfect overnight spot for you and your new spouse, while guests can enjoy one of 3 camp spots. There’s a private bathroom inside the cabin, and you won’t be bothered by your guests with the outdoor bathroom/shower available for them.
Sun Mountain Lodge
Whether you want an intimate micro wedding of 56, or a full size 300 guest wedding, Sun Mountain Lodge has a spot for you. The full hotel has plenty of space for guests to hang for the weekend, while you and your spouse relax with spa appointments between events. This is the perfect way to be with your family all weekend, without being connected to everyone 24/7.
Country -N- Lace
While this isn’t an onsite weekend experience, Country-n-Lace has a weekend package so you can do your rehearsal Friday, event Saturday and have time to clean up on Sunday. Located in Toledo, there are several hotels nearby, and a few bars if your Friday night afterparty needs to run a bit longer.
Orting Manor
Located in the quiet little town of Orting, the Orting Manor has accommodations for 10, making it a perfect intimate weekend with you and your wedding party. I personally love the Orting Manor, and have been honored to shoot there in the past! Bonus: I’m right up the hill from here in Bonney Lake, so working a weekend package for your photo needs would rock my socks off.
Carson Ridge Luxury Cabins
With packages for up to 40 guests, consider the Carson Ridge Luxury Cabins for your intimate wedding! There are plenty of things to do around the Columbia River Gorge, keeping your guests occupied. Hiking trails provide beautiful entertainment for the adventurers, or stick close to the cabins and relax in the spa.
Skalitude Retreat and Education Center
Nestled in Central Washington on the outskirts of the National forest, the Skalitude Retreat and Education Center offers a beautiful Eco-Retreat. Embrace the natural beauty and plan your eco-friendly wedding weekend with all your favorite people.
Foxtail Estate – Florida Getaway
This last one is a real doozy, which is why we’re cool with traveling all the way to Daytona Florida for it. With a beautiful welcoming honeymoon suite, and two additional rooms for your witnesses or family members, this destination bed and breakfast is on my short list of places to visit. If you’re looking to elope in a sweet little destination like this, be sure to check out the travel package on my Wedding Investment Page.
